Ascension or our Lord

Your Diocese, like ours, is probably celebrating this feast on a Sunday.  Either way, I always like to at least mention it on the Thursday--since Ascension happens 40 days after Easter Sunday, thus it always occurs on a Thursday.

Check your Catholic Calendar to get the right date of this feast.  After this feast day, next Sunday is Pentecost.  The next Sunday is Trinity Sunday.  And the following Sunday is Corpus Christi Sunday.  These occur in both May and June, so I have put them under both month's tabs.  Lots of fun Sundays coming up!
To Do:   For a simple centerpiece at dinner, have one of your children color and cut out a picture of Jesus. You can perch this atop a candle flute or hang it from the chandelier. Here for a simple picture of Jesus to color and hang up. http://www.raisingourkids.com/coloring-pages/printable/bible/025-peter-bible-page-to-color.html We added clouds with ours. (Yes, my son is standing on the table to put this up.)

To Eat:  Have a nice sit down dinner together or plan a picnic! For dessert try Lemon Cloud Pie. It's different, delicious, and easy--or have any other dessert with whipped cream or meringue to symbolize Jesus going up into the clouds.
